Apparently this college student didn't have any spidey sense.

Unfortunately for 21-year-old Jonathan Hewson, an attempt at robbing a convenience store was thwarted by a clerk with a weapon, WPXI reports.

At least he'll go down in University of Pittsburgh history as the dude who got arrested while wearing his Spider-Man costume.

Investigators say Hewson entered an Atwood Express in Pittsburgh on Friday morning and yelled, "How much money you got?"

The clerk says he felt threatened and whipped out a Spider-Man's only true weakness -- a stun gun.

Hewson ran out of the store, but apparently didn't go to far, according to the New York Daily News. He was arrested less than a block away within the hour.

A buddy of his told WPXI that Hewson always dresses up in the costume, and probably wasn't trying to rob the store.

"He was hanging out with a bunch of friends, running around in a Spider-Man costume. It’s just a misunderstanding of somebody robbing a store," Chris Esposito
said. "He’s a Spider-Man enthusiast. He’s a college kid and college kids do strange things."

Hewson was arraigned on robbery charges later that morning. His bail was set at $50,000 and Hewson was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, CBS reports.DYD HERO
